SCOURGIN' ZOMBIES (USA/IN)

Band formed in Crawfordsville, IN during the early Summer of 1988 by J Richter (vocals), Shayne Wray (guitar), Jim Walker (bass) & Rob Hampel (drums). Hampel was fired in the Spring of 1989 & John Crowder was drafted as his replacement. Tons of midwest gigs followed, then the band entered Hit City Studios (Indianapolis, IN) with famed producer Paul Mahern at the controls. Their self-titled demo was released in limited quantities in December of 1989. Tons of bigger gigs followed, sharing stages with bands like Sanctuary, Bombshell, Drop Dead, Life Sentence, Impulse Manslaughter, Rattail Grenadier, Toxic Reasons, Demolition Hammer, Malevolent Creation, Devastation, F.U.C.T., etc. The band entered Sonic Iguana Studios in the Spring of 1991 to record their full-length, "Inherited Hate". After the sessions were complete, the band prepared for a European tour with Toxic Reasons & Raw Power, but Crowder quit. Unable to find an adequate replacement, the band played their last gig in the early fall of 1991. "Inherited Hate" has never been officially released.
